"Jotain ihan muuta"

Jos kävelet tämän päivän Rautatientorilla Helsingissä, ehkä yksi tuhannesta siellä notkuvasta tunnistaa nimen Jarkka Rissanen. Todella monet suomalaiset  pitkänkin linjan muusikot tämän Pielaveden lahjan suomalaiselle musiikille noteeraavat: Eero Raittinen, Pepe Ahlqvist ja niin edelleen.

Sain vähän aikaa sitten käsiini Jarkan ja kumppaneiden CD:n The 20th Century Box. Täytyy myöntää, että haavi auki tuota aivan upeaa levyä kuuntelin.

Siinä, että perinteistä bluesia veivaa rumpali ja kitaristi ei ole mitään uutta, mutta tuuba? Ei muuten ole mitään tuubaa tuoda ja luoda bassoäänet nimenomaan tuuballa, esimerkkinä tämä Tonal Box Trion tulkinta Robert Johnsonin piisistä Love in vain.

Eräs erittäin hyvä ystäväni vinkkasi minulle sällistä nimeltä Antti Kajander, keikkansa kuulemma ovat "aivan loistavia". Pienen googlailun jälkeen törmäsin sällin sivuihin; juutuupissakin on jonkin verran materiaalia. Kannattaa tutustua, tässä maistiaisiksi Kajanderin tulkinta Eppujen piisistä Kitara, taivas ja tähdet.

Mieltäni suuresti lämmitti YLE:n uutinen suomalaisista soitinrakentajista. Lainaan ingressin.

Suomalaisella kitaranrakennuksella menee hyvin. Kitaroiden rakentaminen tuo leipää jopa sadalle viidellekymmenelle suomalaiselle tekijälle ja soittimille on menekkiä ympäri maailmaa.
